StarChild Academy’s strong academic curriculum includes: phonics-based reading and writing including the Open Court, A Beka, and High Reach Cuddle Bugs programs; math including the Saxon Math program; science; social studies; computer instruction, PE classes, foreign languages including Spanish, Italian, and American Sign Language; arts & crafts; and, music. FEBRUARY CURRICULUM

During the month of February StarChild Academy’s Pre-K classes theme is “Red, White, and Blue”. Learning how to link sounds to letters, short vowels, proper nouns and alphabet, learning about patriotism and the American spirit.

Our Jr. Pre-K classes are studying the “senses”: helping children be aware of how to get information about the world through their senses. Also blending onsets with rhyming: _an, _ip, _et, blending final consonant sounds, restoring onsets, restoring rhymes, median vowels and final vowels.

Preschool classes will be learning about “Chidren “Around the World & Community Helpers”, counting 1-20, Number Concepts 10 and 11, the letters Mm,, Nn, and Oo (name and sound formation).

Our Toddler classes will be learning about “Big Trucks and Machines”.

Foreign language themes will be as follows: ‘Las emotions y los cantrarios / Emotions and Opposites for Spanish, ‘Food’ for Italian, ‘Food’ for Sign Language, ‘Animals, Shapes and Colors’ for Japanese, and Friendship for Sign Language.
